Crayon art

Solar Crayon Art- What you Need:

  • Crayola Crayons
  • A canvas (preferably one for each child)
  • A cheese grater and/ or potato peeler
  • The hot sun

Once you have your supplies gathered begin by peeling the wrappers from the crayons. pick a handful of crayon colors the child wants to use for your kids art, and then peel them.
Then its time to grate and shave the crayons. use the cheese grater to make shavings then use the potato peeler for larger shavings. You can even throw in chunks of the crayons that are left over if you want to. Have the child put the shavings and/or chunks on the canvas how ever they would like.

Then place the canvas or canvases on the blacktop in the sun or anywhere in the direct sun. For a couple hours so say you do it in the morning and put it out around eleven then around five it should be melted.
Hope you have as much fun as I had making it with my stepson
